Cosy

I am so lucky to have the holiday season off work to enjoy friends, family, food and of course. . . the after Christmas sales!!  My family and I made the 6 hour car journey down from Donegal to Cork and let me just say that it was worth it because the shopping here is on point!  I picked up some great pieces and I can't wait to share them with you.

My close friend and fellow blogger Irish Fashaholic and I caught up over lunch and couldn't help but take a few outfit snaps of each other as you do! This over sized sweater I picked up in the Zara sale is most probably the coziest thing I have ever owned.  To prevent it from looking too mumsy, I paired it with these hot Zara boots (also from the sale!), and very comfy, I might add! Happy shopping and be sure to check out www.irishfashaholic.blogspot.ie  xo

Teal Appeal

Everyone needs a good winter coat. . .or two, or three, for that matter!  This Bastyan teal alpaca coat is one of my favourites.  I bought it on sale last January for half price and it was a great steal!  The lapels have leather detailing and the coat itself is so soft as its made from alpaca fur.  I will definately be picking up a new coat in the after Christmas sales again this year, it's the best time to pick up pricey quality items at a bargain.  Stay warm  people! xo

Festive

Last night I went out for a work Christmas party.  I love this time of year, because people always put in extra effort to be social and I get to and mix in lots of different circles.  It's also an excuse to get the glad rags on and who doesn't love that!?! Unfortunately this year the theme of the party was Xmas jumpers.  I didn't have an Xmas jumper, nor did I want to go out and purchase one that I knew I didn't like and would never wear again.  Thus, this outfit was born.  I decided to wear this red  silk top with a bow because I thought it was a bit festive and looked like a Christmas gift.  I paired it with a light pink leather look high waisted skirt that I just bought in River Island and a Penney's faux fur coat that kept me really warm! Enjoy the holiday season! xo

Blanket Scarf Three Ways

I am living up in the northern most tip of Ireland and it is freezing up here! Especially for a girl from Southern California, I never get used to all this rain, wind and darkness in the winter.  That is why I am glad that blanket scarves are a big trend this season.  It's basically an excuse to wrap a warm, chic blanket around your shoulders for warmth when you leave the house and still be in fashion.  Plus, they are really versatile!  My favourite styles are in muted colours and geometric shapes.  They have great ones in Zara.  Stay warm! xo

Party Pants

I do love me a printed pant! And where better to wear this brightly coloured pair than while on holiday in a warm place.  I paired these "party pants" with a simple black top and my trusty leather jacket.  A leather jacket is a must have staple for any wardrobe.  I invested in this one from Sandro a few years ago and continue to wear it often.  It's worth spending a bit more money on this wardrobe essential as you can wear it year after year.  I also love the leather fringe detailing on this top.  Thanks for stopping by and Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans out there! xo

Seaside in Sitges

While in Spain, we popped over for a day trip in the seaside town of Sitges which is only a 30 minute train ride from Barcelona.  It is an adorable town with lots of character and is buzzing with life in the summer months.  The weather was actually quite cold so I had to throw on some leggings under my skirt and a leather jacket.  It was not the outfit I originally intended on wearing, and this may not be one of my best looks!  But hey, it was practical and even fashionistas have to improvise sometimes! xo

Red Lips

I recently returned from a holiday in Barcelona and it's been tough coming back to the rain and gloom of Ireland after enjoying a week basking in the sun.  Barcelona is one of my favourite European cities.  It is full of all the things I love - top class Michelin star restaurants, gorgeous architecture (hello Gaudi!) and the best shopping (Zara, Mango and Massimo Duti are all Spanish brands - just to name a few).

I wore this embelished T-shirt that I picked up in H&M for just 10 euros!  I love the textured sequins on the red lips.  I also decided to jump on the hat band wagon with this fedora from Penney's.  Hats are a great way to automatically make an outfit feel "cool", or at least I think so anyways!  There were so many amazing backdrops to photograph as well.  I will post more holiday outfits throughout the week,  xo

Winter Florals

I just bought this striped floral top from Penney's.  The dark colors make it a perfect way to wear florals during the A/W season.  The top also has a really cute matching skirt, but unfortunately it was sold out, so I paired it with this high-wasted see through skirt from www.minusey.com.  This is a South Korean online clothing store and it's great to pick up cute bits that no one else will have. xo

Leather Pants Two Ways

I recently bought these vegan leather trousers in H&M and they were a steal at under 30 euros.  Vegan leather is great as it's way cheaper than real leather and easier to take care of too.  These pants are so comfortable that I have been wearing them nearly every weekend.  I paired them with a Zara coat with quilted leather sleeves and also with a Zara blanket scarf.  Large plaid scarves are huge this season and I think the best selection can be found at Penney's and Zara. xo

Turtle Necks and Tutus

I was in beautiful Ards National Park amoungst all the autumn leaves falling off the trees and I took the opportunity to have an impromptu photo shoot in this outfit that I love for fall!  I will most definitely be rocking turtle necks this season.  I think they are just so chic (not to mention practical for keeping warm!)  I also recently bought this hat in Penney's for less than 5 euros.  It doesn't come out that well in the photos, but it has a really cute mesh bow and jewel detail.  What is your favourite fall trend? xo

Monochrome at the G

I was in Galway a few weeks ago for a medical conference and I decided to stop by the G hotel for a bite to eat and one of their famous cocktails.  This hotel is a bloggers dream - it was designed in part by milliner Phillip Treacy and has so many unique and gorgeous features.  I just so happened to het chatting to photographer Peter Harkin who was there to shoot a wedding and he took these gorgeous photos for me.  (It sure beats my husband or four year old taking the photos!!)  Check out his work here: www.peterharkin.com

A Scarf Affair

So, it's officially autumn/winter 2014!  The clocks have gone back, and I must admit this is not my favourite time of year. But A/W invariably means that it's scarf time! And I do love me good scarf.  This year I am inspired by this cool belted scarf trend from the Burberry A/W '14 catwalk.  What's your favourite A/W trend? xo

Seeing Spots

I just couldn't wait to wear this new black and white polka dot jacket I bought at H&M.  It also comes in all black, and I couldn't decide which I liked better, but I eventually went for this one because I wear way too much black and wanted to mix things up a bit.  I paired the jacket with these cropped trousers from Penney's.  They have tiny white spots on them as well, but it's hard to see in the pictures.  I love taking photographs in beautiful locations with cool backdrops, but sometimes a girl's just gotta make do with snapping a few #ootd pics in front of the boring fence in the backyard! I also recently bought this amazing Hermes clic clac bracelet.  It was a little gift from me, to me!  We need to reward ourselves sometimes, right! xo

Playing Catch Up: Part 2

Here's a look back at some of the casual outfits I wore over the past few months.  When I'm not working I just like to be as comfy as possible and I usually wear sweaters, T-shirts and jeans.  Sometimes when I'm really lazy I'll even wear leggings and a baggy sweatshirt, but you won't be seeing those outfits here!! I've also been favouring tops with clever, cheeky slogans lately, as you can see!
 Thanks for stopping by.  xo
